This is a great time to own property in the Lake Tahoe and Truckee communities. The market is still very strong with 20 plus percentage annual appreciation in single-family homes, and condominiums continue to be a hot item. Over the last three years, I have become very involved in the redevelopment of the North Lake Tahoe and Truckee communities. To that end, I’m proud to participate in our community through my funding donations to the League to Save the Lake, Project MANA (they help feed families), and the North and South Lake Tahoe Historical Societies. One of the largest issues facing our communities is the supply of Affordable Housing to our Teachers, Fireman, and service sector workers. I sit on the board of directors of the Work Force Housing Association of Tahoe Truckee which is in the process of working with the Town of Truckee, Placer County and affordable housing developers to develop and manage affordable housing in the Truckee and North Lake Tahoe communities.

Recently I sponsored a survey of all of the businesses in the Carnelian Bay to Crystal Bay of North Lake Tahoe. The survey is part of the North Tahoe Business Association’s Main Street program. I participate in the Economic Restructuring committee of Main Street program. We’re in the process of working with Placer County’s Redevelopment department to reinvent our business communities in the Carnelian Bay to Crystal Bay of North Lake Tahoe. Additionally, I sit on the advisory committee for the North Lake Tahoe Resort Association’s Chamber of Commerce. Our focus is to work on a regional level to help revitalize our business communities of West and North Lake Tahoe as well as Truckee.
